Frequently asked questions

what do I do if I need to cancel my appointment?

You would go to your Client Portal and cancel the session there. If you cancel within 24 hours prior to your session, you will still be charged $50 for that session. This fee will be waived if you talk with your therapist, and they agree that the situation was unavoidable.

what if I have a question or concern in between my appointments?

For anything you feel cannot wait until our next appointment, you can call or email us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

are my records confidential?

Yes, but there may be some exceptions. Please review the HIPAA form above for details.

what forms of payment are accepted?

At this time, Self-Pay is the only accepted payment. Self-Pay is completed through TheraPlatform. You can get to TheraPlatform through Client Portal in the tabs above or by clicking here.

how long will my assessment take?

The first appointment is the Initial Assessment/Session and will be about 60 minutes. Further sessions will generally vary from 50-60 minutes.

what happens at the first appointment?

I will conduct a diagnostic assessment which is done by gathering information regarding your current and previous symptoms to best inform what treatment plans/ongoing sessions will look like.

Do you make reminder calls for my appointments?

You will receive a reminder via your preferred contact method - call, text, or email. This will come 24 hours before your appointment.

how should i prepare for my Assessment?

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time so you will have time to fill out necessary paperwork. You may also download the forms from further up on this Resources page if you want to complete them prior to your appointment.

what should i bring to my first appointment/assessment?

If you download and complete the paperwork prior to your first appointment, please bring them with you. Please also bring your ID and any paperwork from previous mental health professionals you have seen. No need to bring medication records, but please be able to tell me what medications you are currently taking.
